Jim Cooney

Non-Executive Chairman

Jim is the chairman and majority shareholder of TCI Renewables. Jim co-founded TCI Australia in 1996 and under
his direction the TCI Group has become globally one of most successful and reliable technology systems integrators.

The TCI Group provides a full suite of services and tailored solutions to dozens of major international clients
operating in Australia, North America and Europe. Following TCI Australia’s listing on the Australian Stock
Exchange in December 2004, Jim won the prestigious Ernst & Young Australian Entrepreneur of the Year award for
2005.

Jim is a Chartered Engineer of 25 years commercial experience in Europe and Australia, holding a Bachelor of
Engineering from the University of Sydney, a Master of Science from the University of London and the Diploma of
Imperial College.

 

Wes Dickson

Non-Executive Director

Wes is a Chartered Accountant with 25 years experience including international Financial Director and Corporate Finance roles in Australia, Europe and USA. Wes is the TCI Group Finance Director where he works across TCI Group assets including, global investments, renewable energy and property development.

Prior to joining the TCI Group, Wes worked for four years as Vice President, Finance with U.S. private equity firm Callahan Associates, where his experience included Finance Director roles, debt and equity financing, operational portfolio management and transaction work. Wes has also held finance roles with the Virgin Group and KPMG in Sydney and London.

 

Brett O’Connor

Director & Co-Founder of TCI Renewables

Brett is a chartered civil engineer with 20 plus years of experience in the development and execution of a diverse range of infrastructure projects spanning several key sectors. Commencing his engineering career working across the UK for large civil engineering contractors progressing to the management of civil engineering projects valued at approximately £25M per annum. Brett joined the TCI Group in 1999 and was integral to the company’s growth and success offering acquisition, design and construction (ADC) services within the mobile telecommunications sector, serving as Managing Director of the UK and Ireland based business between 2004-2006. He was heavily involved in the diversification of the TCI UK business into the renewable energy sector and is a co-founder of TCI Renewables. Brett transferred into TCI Renewables on a fulltime basis in June 2006 as Regional Director for the company’s operations in North America and originated all projects that have been sold to date in North America – amounting to in excess of 300 MW now operating in Quebec and Ontario (Canada) now owned by Next Era Canada and TransAlta, plus a further 200 MW of projects in Ontario (Canada) that have been partnered with investment grade partners pending PPA acquisition. He resided in Montreal, Canada (2006-2013) returning to the UK in late 2013 to play a pivotal role in divesting >100 MW of late stage UK development projects transacted prior to commencement of construction. He successfully lead the bid and procurement of the Contract for Difference (CFD) awarded in March 2016 to the Common Barn Project in Cambridgeshire and retains responsibility for onward development and contract administration of the project through to construction, alongside continuing to lead TCI’s development projects in North America consisting of approximately 350 MW of late stage projects.

 

Peter Craig

Director and Head of Ireland

Peter is a Building Engineering & Construction Manager with 26 years commercial field experience, who since joining the TCI Group as a local Belfast based project engineer in 1999 played a key role in the company’s diversification into the renewable energy sector delivering Northern Ireland’s first directly connected on-site wind turbine generator at Antrim Area Hospital in 2005 displacing its reliance on conventional fossil fuelled electricity supply with a sustainable wind generated electricity supply. Following the Groups formation of a dedicated renewables division shortly thereafter, Peter was appointed UK Projects Manager of TCI Renewables in January 2006 with responsibility for the co-ordination and management of all UK wind farm development activities. During this period Peter also managed TCI Renewables’ Belfast office comprising the operation and development of all renewable interests and activities throughout Ireland, delivering almost 200MW of planning consented onshore wind farm generation on the Island.
